Social Media Content Design

Overview

After the full rebrand and conversion of the Johnson Space Center Federal Credit Union into Wellby Financial, the team needed to undergo an organizational overhaul of the brand identity for its social media presence. The goal was to increase brand awareness and establish a scalable identity for the growth of Wellby Financial into new territories in the greater Houston area.

Design Process

The project goal was to increase brand awareness and establish a dynamic scalable brand identity for Wellby Financial's growing member outreach and to engage them into attending community events supported by new partnerships in the great Houston area.

Setting design foundations

After the completion of our foundational design assets for the rebrand, I started building out our creative marketing content for social media platforms along side the Social Media Manager and the digital marketing team.

  • Illustrations amd Iconography: The foundational illustrations and icons were created by Sara Dholakia
  • Visual Accessibility: I used the Stark plugin to run color blind and low vision tests on the text and color combinations

Eventually, I built up our illustration design system creating customizable designs at varying levels of complexity and uses, such as, for blogs, social media posts, and product illustrations.

Challenges with a new brand

There was a learning curve in how to re-engage members after the rebranding from a legacy organization, however, I was able to apply fresh creative approaches with the input and support of the Social Media Manager.

Key takeaways

By collaborating with the creative marketing team, we were able to engage members and begin building up a brand member's trust.

Outcome

After a couple of months, the team was able to get a standardized calendar and engagement touchpoints established with leadership and the marketing and design departments. Once the leadership level set on membership expectations, I was able to optimize the social media content for the brand with the design team to create dynamic and accessible content.
